Animal Semantics creates a single graphic form to express the characteristics of an animal found in Singapore. The Malayan Horned Frog, entirely covered in dappled brown, is distinguishable from its horn-like skin projections on its head and extended, pointed snout.
This graphic form mainly uses the gestalt law of closure and design principle of contrast. It aims to accentuate each of its distinct features against a dead leaf. This was deliberate in depicting its capability in camouflaging remarkably in its habitat, the leaf litter of the rainforest floor.
